Should you be feeding
your dog Raw Bones?

Yes!
Bones are just one of the ways your pet Teeth can get dental exercise.

Raw Meaty bones are great for cleaning teeth. Dogs and Cats have to chew them causing scraping on the teeth and most importantly gum massage, aiding in the removal of plaque.

Please avoid plastic bones and Rawhides as these contain chemicals and they will also not break down in the stomach as well as Rawhide can be a choking hazard.

Feeding Recommendations_
Variety is the key to providing optimum nutrition. By alternating meals that do not contain bones (beef/lamb) with bone-in meals (chicken/duck) your pet's calcium needs will be met. For nutritional analysis, please see our web site. The following chart is a guideline and amount fed should be adjusted to meet and maintain your pet's ideal body condition. This will vary based on age, breed, life stage, health and activity level. It is important to monitor your pet's needs and adjust quantities accordingly.

The special cases—pregnancy, lactation and growing puppies…
Pregnant or lactating females and puppies have increased energy and nutrient requirements. Pregnant and Lactating females may require 2-3 times the normal amount of food so their body stores do not become depleted. Young pups (4-8 weeks) can eat up to 8% of their body weight daily. Older pups (8 weeks-1 year) should eat approximately 4% of their body weight daily. It is crucial feeding amounts be continuously re-evaluated based on body condition, growth spurts and breed specific needs!

Be sure to follow the same safe food handling practices you would use when preparing raw meat for your human family. Wash hands and any surface that has been in contact with the food with warm soapy water. Immediately refrigerate any uneaten portions and discard after 2 days.
